Top 10 Web Browser Keyboard Shortcuts

Just when you think you know them all :-)

We all know that F5 forces a web page refresh in your browser.  The trouble is, that just refreshes it from the local cache.  CTRL+F5 will forces the browser to re-fetch the entire web page from the server.

This tip and a few others for all the major browsers running on the Windows platform are here:

CTRL-F5 actually forces the browser to go and re-fetch it from the server.
CTRL-SHIT-DELETE brings up a form to allow you to delete the cach
  1. CTRL+F5 actually forces the browser to go and re-fetch it from the server.
  2. CTRL+SHIT+DELETE brings up a form to allow you to delete the cache.
  3. CTRL+H brings up your browsing history
  4. CTRL+F4 closes your browser window
  5. CTRL+W closes the current tab
  6. F11 toggles between full-screen and the regular view
  7. CTRL+TAB switches to the next tab
  8. CTRL + (click hyperlink) opens the link in a new tab in the background
  9. CTRL+SHIFT+N (Chrome)  opens a new window in private (aka Incognito) mode
  10. CTRL+SHIFT+P (IE & Firefox)   opens a new window in private (aka Incognito) mode
